Social Media Banner Resizer
Drop one image in and crop it to the YouTube banner, the LinkedIn profile background and company cover, the X header and the Facebook cover, with the safe area drawn on top wherever the platform publishes one.
Last updated: 2026-10-25
Every network frames the top of a profile differently. YouTube wants a 2560 x 1440 banner at 16:9. A LinkedIn personal profile background is 1584 x 396, a LinkedIn company page cover is 1512 x 256, the X header is 1500 x 500, and a Facebook Page cover is 851 x 315. One design almost never survives all five crops.
This resizer crops your image to each of those sizes and draws the safe area on top where the platform publishes one: the 1235 x 338 area in the middle of a YouTube banner (stated at the 2048 x 1152 minimum), and the 60 pixels X says could be cut from the top and bottom of a header. Keep your name, logo and text inside those lines and they stay visible.
It all runs in your browser. The image is drawn with canvas inside this tab, nothing is uploaded, and the result goes straight to your downloads. Once the new banner is live, plan the posts that go under it: Postify schedules them to YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Facebook from one place.
Size to export
Pick the image you are making. The preview and the download follow it.
Your image never leaves your browser. The crop and the export both run on your device, and nothing is uploaded to us. HEIC photos straight from an iPhone only decode in Safari, so export a JPEG copy first if yours will not open.

Export format
0.85 is the safe default. Push to 0.95 for images with text, drop toward 0.7 only when you are fighting a tight file size cap.
Re-encoding through canvas also drops the EXIF block, so the file you download carries no GPS coordinates, camera model or timestamp.

Tips
- Design for the safe area first. Put your name, logo and any text in the part the platform keeps, then let the background run out to the edges, where a crop costs you nothing.
- Make one design per platform rather than one for all. A 4:1 LinkedIn background and a 16:9 YouTube banner share almost no common crop, so a layout built for one leaves a thin sliver or empty space on the other.
- Check the file size before you upload. YouTube caps banners at 6 MB, a LinkedIn personal background at 8 MB and a LinkedIn company cover at 3 MB. X and Facebook publish no file size cap for headers and covers.
Frequently asked questions
What size should a social media banner be?
It depends on the network. YouTube: 2560 x 1440, at least 2048 x 1152, up to 6 MB. LinkedIn personal profile background: 1584 x 396, up to 8 MB. LinkedIn company page cover: 1512 x 256, up to 3 MB. X header: 1500 x 500. Facebook Page cover: 851 x 315, at least 400 x 150.
Why is there no safe area on some sizes?
Only YouTube and X publish one. LinkedIn and Facebook give a size but no safe rectangle, so the tool shows the plain crop rather than drawing a guess. On a Facebook Page cover, keep in mind that mobile shows it at 2.4:1 against 16:9 on desktop, and the profile picture overlaps the left of the cover on mobile.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and redrawn with canvas inside your browser, and the cropped copy goes straight to your downloads folder. Nothing is sent to Postify or to anyone else. This tool does not change your profile either: you upload the file yourself in the profile settings of each network.
