LinkedIn Banner Resizer
LinkedIn has two banners with two different sizes: 1584 x 396 behind a personal profile and 1512 x 256 on a company page. Pick the one you need and crop to it in your browser.
Last updated: 2026-10-25
The background photo on a personal LinkedIn profile is 1584 x 396 at 4:1, JPG or PNG, up to 8 MB. The cover image on a LinkedIn company page is a different upload: 1512 x 256, which LinkedIn lists as both the minimum and the recommendation, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB. Using one where the other belongs means a crop you did not choose.
This resizer crops your image to either size so you can see the result before you upload it. LinkedIn publishes no safe area for either banner, so the tool shows the full crop without guide lines rather than drawing a guess.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. When the new banner is up, plan the posts that go under it: Postify schedules your LinkedIn posts ahead of time.
Size to export
Pick the image you are making. The preview and the download follow it.
Your image never leaves your browser. The crop and the export both run on your device, and nothing is uploaded to us. HEIC photos straight from an iPhone only decode in Safari, so export a JPEG copy first if yours will not open.

Export format
0.85 is the safe default. Push to 0.95 for images with text, drop toward 0.7 only when you are fighting a tight file size cap.
Re-encoding through canvas also drops the EXIF block, so the file you download carries no GPS coordinates, camera model or timestamp.

Tips
- Check which banner you are making. The company page cover at 1512 x 256 is wider and much shallower than the 4:1 personal background, so a design made for one loses its top and bottom on the other.
- Mind the file size on a company page. The company cover is capped at 3 MB against 8 MB for a personal background, so a detailed PNG that works on your profile can be too big for the page.
- Keep text short and large. A wide, shallow banner is shown small on a phone, so one line of large type reads better than a paragraph.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a LinkedIn banner?
It depends on where it goes. A personal profile background is 1584 x 396 pixels (4:1), JPG or PNG, up to 8 MB. A company page cover is 1512 x 256 pixels, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB, and LinkedIn gives that same size as the minimum.
Does LinkedIn publish a safe area for banners?
Not on the help pages these numbers come from. That is why this tool shows the plain crop for both banners instead of drawing guide lines. Check the result on your own profile or page after you upload it.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The crop happens with canvas inside this tab and the file goes to your downloads folder. Nothing reaches Postify or LinkedIn until you upload the banner yourself.
