Alternative
The best Postiz alternative when you need an inbox and client sign-off
Postiz suits developers and teams that want open source, an API and a long list of networks. People look elsewhere when the work shifts to answering comments, getting client approval or managing posts from a phone, or when self-hosting turns into more upkeep than they want. This guide covers Postify, other hosted options, and what you lose by leaving.
Last updated: 2026-10-07
TL;DR: Postify is a practical Postiz alternative if you need an inbox, a client accept-or-reject link and native mobile apps on a hosted plan. If self-hosting, the API or networks like Bluesky and Reddit are why you chose Postiz, you will miss them.

Postify or Postiz: which one fits you
Choose Postiz if
- Developers and technical teams who want to self-host under AGPL-3.0, with unlimited channels, posts and members and their own database.
- Anyone who publishes to networks Postify does not support, such as Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, Google Business Profile, Telegram, Discord or WordPress.
- Builders who need a public API, SDK, CLI, webhooks and n8n or Make integrations, all included on hosted plans.
- Heavy posters who want unlimited posts on every hosted plan, with AI images, AI video and clipping in the same tool.
- Users who depend on RSS auto-posting (Team plan and up) and repeating posts.
Choose Postify if
- Teams that answer comments and DMs: Postify has an inbox from Plus, and Postiz has none.
- Agencies that need a client to accept or reject each post, not just comment on a preview (Pro and Agency).
- People who manage social from a phone and want native iOS and Android apps.
- Creators who want a link-in-bio page and a feed grid preview for Instagram and TikTok without extra tools.
Worth knowing about Postiz: Postiz is open source under AGPL-3.0, ships often (three releases between August and October 2026), and is free to self-host with no feature gates. For a team that can run Docker, Postgres, Redis and Temporal and wants to own its data, that is something Postify, a hosted service only, cannot offer.
Why people move on from Postiz
The most common gap is engagement. Postiz has no inbox, so comments and DMs are handled in each network's app. Client review is a public preview link with comments, no approved status and no password.
Daily use is another. There is no native mobile app (the web app became responsive in v2.25.0), Postiz documents no link in bio or white label, and the Standard plan has no team members.
For self-hosters, the trigger is often platform approval: most networks need your own developer app, and Meta, YouTube and TikTok reviews can take weeks. On Cloud, there is no free hosted plan to fall back to.
What Postify covers that Postiz does not
An inbox from Plus for comments on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube and Plative and DMs on Facebook and Instagram, with comment-to-DM and keyword automations.
A per-post client review link on Pro and Agency, where the client accepts or rejects and the post can wait for the answer. Agency adds white-label reports.
Native iOS and Android apps with iOS widgets, Postify Link on every plan, a feed grid preview for Instagram and TikTok, and an interface in 39 languages.
What you give up
Control: no self-hosting, no database of your own, and no public API, webhooks, SDK, CLI, n8n or Make. Automation runs only through Postify's MCP server.
Reach: Postify does not publish to Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, Google Business Profile, Telegram, Discord or WordPress.
Built-in creation and volume: no AI images, video or clipping, no RSS or repeating posts, and Hobby, at €9.99 per month, is capped at 15 posts a month on one profile, where every Postiz Cloud plan has unlimited posts.
Moving your data out
Postiz Cloud has no self-serve export; you email support or pull posts and analytics through the API. Self-hosters already own the database.
Postify has no import tool, so recreate upcoming posts by hand and keep channels Postify does not support running in Postiz or another tool.
Other Postiz alternatives worth considering
Postify is our product, so weigh this list accordingly. Depending on your workload, these tools also deserve a look:
- ContentStudio if you want to keep MCP, a public API and a CLI on every plan as a hosted service, with Bluesky, Telegram and Google Business Profile support.
- Buffer if you want a free plan with a GraphQL API and MCP server, plus Bluesky and Mastodon.
- Vista Social if you need a wide inbox (including Reddit, Bluesky and TikTok comments), listening and review management, from $99 per month.
- Publer if recurring posts, RSS and recycling were what you used most, with Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram support.
Migration checklist
- On Postiz Cloud there is no self-serve data export. Email support@postiz.com, or pull your posts and analytics through the public API before you cancel.
- If you self-host, the Postgres database is yours. Back it up before you shut the containers down, even if you never plan to restore it.
- Cancelling Postiz Cloud stops publishing and API access but keeps your data. Refunds are limited: the docs allow one per customer, for a charge under 60 days old, capped at one month.
- List the Postiz channels Postify cannot take over (for example Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit or Google Business Profile) and decide where they will live before you switch.
- Replace anything built on the Postiz API, webhooks, n8n or Make. Postify has none of these; check whether its MCP server covers the job, or keep that part elsewhere.
- Connect accounts in Postify with each network's own login. Unlike self-hosted Postiz, you do not need to register your own Meta, TikTok or YouTube developer app.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the best Postiz alternative with a social inbox?
- Postify has an inbox from Plus that covers comments and DMs on Facebook and Instagram plus comments on Threads, LinkedIn and YouTube. Vista Social has a wider inbox, including X, TikTok comments, Reddit and Bluesky, with plans from $99 per month (USD).
- Does Postify have an API like Postiz?
- No. Postify has no public API, webhooks, Zapier or Make. Its MCP server is the only programmatic way in, and it lets an AI assistant create, edit and schedule posts, read insights and work in the inbox (Plus and above).
- Can I keep Postiz for some networks and use Postify for others?
- Yes. For example, keep Bluesky or Reddit in Postiz and move Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn to Postify. Just connect each account to only one tool so no post goes out twice.
- Is Postify cheaper than Postiz Cloud?
- It depends on what you count. Postiz Standard is $29 per month (USD) for 5 channels with unlimited posts and no team members. Postify Hobby is €9.99 per month (EUR) for one profile with one account per network, one user and 15 posts a month. Convert the currencies and compare against your own posting volume.
- Can my clients approve posts in Postiz?
- Not formally. Postiz preview links let anyone comment, but there is no approved status. Postify Pro and Agency give clients an Accept or Reject choice that can hold a post until they answer.
