Worth knowing about Buffer: Buffer has been around since 2010 and is known for a simple queue-based scheduler with a real free plan. It also gives every plan, including Free, API keys and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants, so connecting an AI assistant is not something Postify offers that Buffer lacks.

Why people move off Buffer

The bill grows with every channel you connect, and channels kept from the Free plan are billed once you upgrade. Approvals and access levels need Team, which costs $10 to $12 per channel per month for the first 10 channels.

The inbox replies to comments but no DM inbox is listed, and advanced analytics cover only Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn Pages and X. Bulk upload takes text and single-image posts only, with no video or carousels. Support is by email only.

When Buffer is still the better choice

Stay on Buffer if your workflow runs through its API, Zapier or Make, or if you publish to Bluesky, Mastodon or Google Business Profile. Stay too if you need many people drafting and approving posts on a small budget: Team includes unlimited users.

If you only manage two or three channels and do not need DMs, the free plan or a few Essentials channels may be all you need.

Migration checklist

Buffer's help center shows no CSV export of your queue. List your scheduled posts before you leave, or have a developer pull scheduled and sent posts through Buffer's API, which every plan can use.
Export your reports before you cancel. Report export is on Essentials and above, and after you drop to Free you only see 30 days of insights.
Check Buffer's refund window: 7 days for monthly plans and 30 days for annual plans. Outside it, your plan runs to the end of the period and then moves to Free, with channels beyond 3 locked but still connected.
If you are on a legacy Buffer plan (Pro, Premium or Business), note that you cannot return to legacy pricing once you switch to the current plans.
