Comparison
Postiz vs Postify: an open-source scheduler against a hosted one with an inbox
Postiz is an open-source scheduler you can run on your own servers or buy as Postiz Cloud, built API-first and connected to 34 platforms. Postify is a hosted scheduler with fewer networks but an inbox, client review links and native mobile apps. Which one fits depends on whether you value control and reach, or engagement and client tools.

TL;DR: Choose Postiz if you want to self-host, need Bluesky, Reddit or Google Business Profile, or build on an API. Choose Postify if you need to answer comments and DMs, get a yes or no from clients, or work from a phone app.

Postify or Postiz: which one fits you
Choose Postiz if
- Developers and technical teams who want to self-host under AGPL-3.0, with unlimited channels, posts and members and their own database.
- Anyone who publishes to networks Postify does not support, such as Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, Google Business Profile, Telegram, Discord or WordPress.
- Builders who need a public API, SDK, CLI, webhooks and n8n or Make integrations, all included on hosted plans.
- Heavy posters who want unlimited posts on every hosted plan, with AI images, AI video and clipping in the same tool.
- Users who depend on RSS auto-posting (Team plan and up) and repeating posts.
Choose Postify if
- Teams that answer comments and DMs: Postify has an inbox from Plus, and Postiz has none.
- Agencies that need a client to accept or reject each post, not just comment on a preview (Pro and Agency).
- People who manage social from a phone and want native iOS and Android apps.
- Creators who want a link-in-bio page and a feed grid preview for Instagram and TikTok without extra tools.
Worth knowing about Postiz: Postiz is open source under AGPL-3.0, ships often (three releases between August and October 2026), and is free to self-host with no feature gates. For a team that can run Docker, Postgres, Redis and Temporal and wants to own its data, that is something Postify, a hosted service only, cannot offer.
Open source and self-hosting: a real advantage
Postiz is licensed AGPL-3.0. Self-hosted, it has unlimited channels, posts and team members, and the project says it does not gate features. You keep the Postgres database, which makes data ownership and compliance reviews simpler.
The cost is setup. You run Postgres, Redis and Temporal (Docker, Docker Compose, Helm, Coolify and Railway are documented), bring your own AI provider keys, and register your own developer app on most networks. Meta, YouTube and TikTok approvals can take weeks, and Postiz sells help with them.
Postify has no self-hosted edition. Accounts connect through Postify's own platform apps, so there is nothing to register, but your data sits on Postify's servers.
Postiz Cloud against Postify plans
Postiz Cloud prices by channel count: Standard has 5 channels and no team members, Team ($39 monthly, or $31 billed yearly) has 10 channels and unlimited members, Pro has 30 and Ultimate 100. Every plan has unlimited posts and includes the MCP server, CLI, API and webhooks.
Postify prices by brand profiles and users. Hobby, at €9.99 per month or €8.33 billed yearly, covers one profile with one account per network, one user and 15 posts a month. Starter removes the post cap, Plus adds three profiles and the inbox, Pro six profiles and client review, and Agency, at €199.94, fifteen profiles.
Postiz charges in USD and Postify in EUR, so compare at your own exchange rate. The Postiz Cloud trial lasts 7 days, needs a card authorization and restricts some AI video generators, clipping and channel reconnection while it runs.
Engagement: the inbox gap
Postiz has no social inbox. Its docs say the Smart Agent cannot read or reply to comments, and no comment or DM view is documented, so replies happen in each network's own app.
Postify's inbox, from Plus, collects comments from Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube and Plative and DMs from Facebook, Instagram and Plative. Automations cover comment-to-DM, keyword replies, comment auto-replies and welcome messages, with 3 active on Plus, 10 on Pro and unlimited on Agency.
It has limits: no inbox for TikTok, X or Pinterest, and no saved replies, assignment or labels.
Client review: comments against a decision
Postiz gives each post a public preview link where anyone can comment without an account. It has no approved flag and no password protection; preview comments arrived in v2.25.0 in October 2026.
Postify Pro and Agency send a per-post review link where the client accepts or rejects. The post can wait for that answer before publishing, with an option to post anyway after a deadline, and the team is emailed on each decision. Clients cannot leave comments.
If you want discussion, the Postiz preview is closer. If you need a recorded yes or no that can hold a post back, Postify is.
Networks, AI and everyday publishing
Postiz reaches 34 platforms, from X long-form articles to Reddit, Mastodon, Telegram and Google Business Profile, and adds AI images and videos, clipping, a Polotno design editor, RSS and repeating posts. Its TikTok "Upload" mode sends media to the TikTok app to finish by hand; "Direct post" mode publishes.
Postify covers fewer networks but publishes Instagram and Facebook Stories directly, posts first comments from Plus, shows a feed grid preview for Instagram and TikTok, and includes Postify Link on every plan. YouTube videos are capped at 180 seconds and Facebook videos at 90.
Both have MCP servers that work with Claude and ChatGPT. Postify's also reaches the inbox (Plus and above), so an assistant can read and answer comments; Postiz says its agent cannot.
Migration checklist
- On Postiz Cloud there is no self-serve data export. Email support@postiz.com, or pull your posts and analytics through the public API before you cancel.
- If you self-host, the Postgres database is yours. Back it up before you shut the containers down, even if you never plan to restore it.
- Cancelling Postiz Cloud stops publishing and API access but keeps your data. Refunds are limited: the docs allow one per customer, for a charge under 60 days old, capped at one month.
- List the Postiz channels Postify cannot take over (for example Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit or Google Business Profile) and decide where they will live before you switch.
- Replace anything built on the Postiz API, webhooks, n8n or Make. Postify has none of these; check whether its MCP server covers the job, or keep that part elsewhere.
- Connect accounts in Postify with each network's own login. Unlike self-hosted Postiz, you do not need to register your own Meta, TikTok or YouTube developer app.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Postiz free?
- Self-hosted Postiz is free under AGPL-3.0, with unlimited channels, posts and members, but you run the servers and register your own platform apps. Postiz Cloud has no free plan; it starts with a 7-day trial that needs a card. Postify has no free plan either.
- Does Postiz have a social inbox?
- No. Postiz does not let you read or reply to comments or DMs, and its Smart Agent cannot either. Postify's inbox starts at Plus.
- Can I self-host Postify?
- No. Postify is available only as a hosted service. If self-hosting is a requirement, Postiz is the better fit.
- Which has more AI built in?
- Postiz. It includes an AI copilot, a Smart Agent, AI images and videos, and clipping, metered by plan. Postify has no built-in AI generation; you connect your own assistant through its MCP server.
- Does Postify support Bluesky, Mastodon or Reddit?
- No. Postify publishes to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Plative. Postiz supports Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit and many more.
