Best Time to Post on Threads
Threads runs about an hour later than Instagram: 20:00 is the peak on all seven days of the week, inside an evening window from 19:00 to 21:00.
Last updated: 2026-07-31
Threads borrowed the Instagram rhythm and pushed it back an hour. The evening conversation block is the whole story: it builds from 18:00, peaks at 20:00 on every single day of the week, and is still strong at 21:00 when Instagram has already started to fade.
The late-night floor is the highest of any text network in this dataset. At 23:00 Threads is still scoring about double what X or Facebook manage at the same hour, and midnight holds low double digits where LinkedIn is barely above zero. It is not a peak, but it is not dead air either.
Weekdays beat weekends, with Tuesday and Wednesday at 20:00 the strongest cells, but the gap is small. Sunday evening comes back to within a few points of a Monday, so a seven day rhythm costs you very little here, and a conversational format rewards showing up often.

How we build these estimates
What the numbers are
Aggregated engagement patterns: published posting-time studies, the daily rhythms each network reports about its own audience, and how people actually use each app. We turn that into one relative score per hour, 0 to 100, within a single network.
What they are not
They are not measurements of your account, and no personal data goes into them. Nothing here is derived from any individual profile, including the ones inside Postify. They are estimates, reviewed in July 2026, meant as a starting point you then test.
Why scores, not percentages
A score of 80 on Instagram and 80 on LinkedIn do not mean the same volume of anything. Each grid is scaled inside its own network, so the only useful comparison is between two hours on the same network, never between two networks.
Industry adjustments
Picking an industry shifts whole parts of the day rather than single hours: fitness lifts the morning, food and beverage lifts lunch, finance and tech lift working hours and pull the evening down. The shape of the network stays, the emphasis moves.
Timing estimates are aggregated engagement patterns from public posting-time studies and platform posting behaviour, last reviewed July 2026. They are a starting point, not a measurement of your account.
Getting more out of your Threads timing
- Put your main post at 20:00 and use the hour either side for replies. Threads is a conversation network, so the follow-ups do as much work as the original.
- Do not simply mirror your Instagram schedule. The peak here is an hour later, and a post cross-posted at 19:00 arrives before the Threads audience does.
- Late is workable. Threads holds more activity after 22:00 than any other text network here, so a good reply at 23:00 is not wasted the way it would be on LinkedIn.
- Post more often than you would on Instagram. The feed moves quickly and short posts are cheap to make, so frequency inside the evening window matters more than precision.
- Ask something answerable. The evening block is when people have time to type, which is exactly what a question needs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best time to post on Threads?
20:00 is the peak on every day of the week on these estimates, with 19:00 to 21:00 strong throughout. Tuesday and Wednesday at 20:00 are the two strongest cells in the grid.
What is the best day to post on Threads?
Wednesday, with Tuesday level or a point behind. The spread across the week is narrow though: Sunday evening comes back to within a few points of a Monday, so no day is a write-off.
Is Threads the same as Instagram for timing?
Close, but shifted later. Instagram peaks at 19:00 and fades after 21:00, Threads peaks at 20:00 and holds. If you cross-post, moving the Threads version an hour later is the single easiest improvement you can make.
Is it worth posting on Threads late at night?
More than on other networks. Threads keeps a higher overnight floor than Facebook, X or LinkedIn, so a late reply still reaches people. It is not the place for your best post of the day, but it is not throwaway either.
Does posting time still matter on Threads in 2026?
Yes, because Threads is conversational. Being there while people are replying is most of the value, and the replies happen in the evening block. A post that lands when nobody is around to answer it starts and stops in the same minute.
