Facebook Fonts Generator
Facebook composer has no bold button, so styled posts are pasted Unicode. Pick from 23 styles and drop one into a post, a comment or a Page bio.

Facebook accepts an enormous 63,206 characters in a post and gives you no way to format a single one of them. Every styled post you have seen on the platform was written elsewhere and pasted in as different characters.
That matters more on Facebook than on most networks, because the feed folds a post behind "See more" after roughly 477 characters on desktop. The visible part is short, and a bold opening line is one of the few tools you have to make it stop a thumb.
Facebook is also the network with the widest age range and the widest spread of devices, from new phones to old tablets and desktop browsers. That is a good reason to stay with the styles that render everywhere rather than the exotic ones.

How these fonts work
They are not fonts, and the difference is the reason they work at all. A font is a file your device installs and an app chooses to use. No social network lets you choose one for a bio or a caption. What you are copying here is a different set of characters that were drawn to look like styled letters.
Most of them come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, added to Unicode so that a bold A meaning a matrix could be distinguished from an ordinary A meaning a variable. That gave the standard a complete bold alphabet, a complete italic one, script, fraktur, double struck and monospace, each with its own permanent code points. To a caption field they are simply letters, so they travel wherever text travels.
Not formatting
There is no bold flag attached to your text. The letter itself is a different character, which is why it survives a copy, a paste and a database round trip.
Support varies
A character only appears if the reader device has a glyph for it. Older phones show an empty rectangle instead. Bold, italic and script are the safest; squared, circled and inverted styles break first.
Gaps are permanent
Some letters were never encoded: there is no small capital Q or X and no superscript q. Those pass through unchanged, because the alternative is substituting a character that means something else.
A few styles work differently again. Strikethrough and underline do not replace your letters at all: they keep them and add an invisible combining mark after each one, which your device draws on top. That is why those two work on any alphabet, including accented letters and scripts these symbol blocks never covered.
Read this before you style a whole caption
These characters have a real cost, and most tools that generate them do not mention it. It is worth knowing exactly what you are trading before you decide it is worth it.
- Screen readers cannot read them as words. VoiceOver and TalkBack either announce each character by its Unicode name, one at a time, or skip it in silence. A caption written entirely in styled text is not a difficult read for a blind follower, it is an impossible one.
- Use it for a word or two. A styled name, a single subheading or one emphasized phrase is a design choice that costs almost nothing. A styled paragraph is a wall of near-identical shapes that is slower to read for everyone, not only for people using assistive technology.
- Keep hashtags and mentions plain, always. Every network builds those links by matching literal characters. A styled hashtag is not parsed as a tag and a styled @ mention notifies nobody, so both become decoration that does none of the work you added them for.
- Search does not see styled words. In-app search, and any recruiter or discovery feature built on it, matches the characters you typed rather than the letters they resemble. A styled keyword is a keyword nobody can find.
All 23 styles, side by side
Every style below is rendered from the same words, "Your name here", so you can compare them honestly. If a row shows empty boxes on your screen, that style has no glyphs on this device and your readers on similar devices will see the same thing.

Facebook styling tips
- One bold line at the top, then plain text. It works with the "See more" fold instead of against it, because the styled part is the part everyone sees.
- Skip styling in Page posts you plan to boost. Ad review reads the text, and heavy decoration invites a rejection you will spend a day appealing.
- Facebook has the broadest device spread of any network here, so stay with bold, italic and script and leave the squared and inverted styles alone.
- Comments accept the same pasted characters as posts, which is often a better place for emphasis than the post itself.
- Group posts are where styled text is most likely to be read as spam. Moderators see a lot of it, and it rarely comes from the members they want.
- Facebook charges every character of a URL, unlike X, so if a post is running long the link is a better thing to shorten than the wording.
Frequently asked questions
Are these real Facebook fonts?
No. Facebook has never offered font choices in the composer. These are separate Unicode characters, mostly from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, that were designed to look bold, italic or script. Facebook saves the characters exactly as pasted, so the styling comes along with them.
Why do some letters stay in the normal font?
Because Unicode never assigned a version of that letter. Small caps have no Q or X, superscript has no q, and a handful of turned capitals do not exist either. Anything without a match is passed through untouched instead of being replaced by a character that means something else.
Will all my friends see the styled text?
Most will, some will not. The glyphs have to be present on the reader device, and Facebook has the oldest and most varied device base of any network here. Bold, italic and script are safe almost everywhere. Circled, squared and inverted styles are where an older phone starts drawing empty rectangles.
Does styled text affect reach or screen readers?
Screen readers are the real problem: they announce these characters individually or skip them, so a styled post is close to useless for anyone using one. On reach, Facebook search matches literal characters, so styled words are invisible to it, and Page posts with heavy decoration draw more spam reports than plain ones.
Can I use these fonts in my Facebook bio?
Yes. Personal profile intros, Page short descriptions and comment fields all take pasted Unicode. Copy the style, open the edit screen, and paste rather than retype. Some structured fields, such as job titles pulled from a Page, will refuse it.
Where does styled text survive on Facebook?
Posts, comments, profile intros, Page descriptions and Messenger all keep it. The place it does not survive usefully is anywhere Facebook is matching text: search, hashtags and the automated review that runs on boosted posts all read the literal characters and treat a styled word as an unfamiliar one.
