If care and reporting are your team's main job, it is the stronger product.

Common reasons to leave Sprout Social

Seats add up. Every user is a paid seat, from $79 per seat per month billed yearly on Essentials to $399 on Advanced, so each new colleague raises the bill.

The entry tiers are narrow. Essentials and Standard allow 5 social profiles, Essentials has no inbox or approvals, approvals start on Professional, and bulk upload needs Professional and still excludes video.

Some useful pieces cost extra or sit at the top. Listening, Premium Analytics and Employee Advocacy are add-ons without public prices, and the public API needs Advanced.

If you used Sprout Essentials for publishing and reports, Postify's entry or Starter plan may be enough: 1 brand profile, with 1 user on the entry plan and 2 on Starter. The entry plan allows 15 posts per month; Starter is unlimited.

If you used Sprout's Smart Inbox, start at Plus (3 brand profiles, 3 users), where the inbox, inbox automations and first comments begin. Keep Sprout if your team handles reviews and customer messages every day, needs CRM or helpdesk links, or relies on live phone support. Postify does not cover those.

Keep it too if Bluesky, Reddit, Snapchat or Google Business Profile posts are part of your plan, or if you need YouTube uploads longer than the 180 seconds Postify allows.

Migration checklist

1. Sprout deletes your data 90 days after a paid account closes. Export reports as PDF or CSV before you deactivate, and check Sprout's Inbox Export help article if you need message history.
2. Deactivation takes effect at the end of your contract term, and scheduled posts stop publishing after that. Line up your Postify start so nothing is left unscheduled in between.
3. Many Sprout customers are on annual contracts paid upfront. Check your renewal date before you commit to a switch.
4. Postify has no CSV import. Recreate upcoming posts in the Postify composer, or hand your post list to an AI assistant connected to Postify's MCP server and review the drafts it schedules.
5. Move review and WhatsApp handling elsewhere first: Postify has no review management and no WhatsApp inbox. Its inbox covers Facebook and Instagram DMs and comments on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads and YouTube.
6. Sprout charges per seat; Postify plans include 1, 2, 3, 6 or 12 users. Map each Sprout user to a Postify role (Owner, Admin, Manager, Member, Billing or Guest) and add extra seats if you need them.

What happens to my data when I close a Sprout Social account?

Under the policy in effect since April 1, 2026, Sprout deletes data 90 days after a paid account closes, and 30 days after a trial ends. Export reports before you deactivate.

When does Sprout Social cancellation take effect?

You deactivate under Billing, and it takes effect at the end of your contract term. Scheduled posts do not publish after the account closes.

Is there a Sprout Social alternative with review management?

Postify has none. Vista Social includes review monitoring for Google Business, Trustpilot, Yelp and the app stores, and Hootsuite's Enterprise plan includes brand review monitoring.

Does Postify charge per seat like Sprout Social?
