Worth knowing about Metricool: Metricool puts analytics at its core and it shows in the best way. Website, organic and paid data sit in one dashboard at a per-brand price that is hard to match, so if reporting is the main part of your job, it remains a strong choice.

Common reasons people leave Metricool

The X add-on is the most visible one. It costs $10 per connected X account per month for anyone adding X after July 13, 2026, on top of the plan, and X cannot be used on the Free plan at all.

Team features are the second. Roles, post approval and client management only start on Advanced, from $53 per month billed yearly, so a small team on Starter has no approval step and no roles.

The third is publishing friction on Instagram. Stories with links or stickers, Reels with outside audio and carousels with videos over 60 seconds still go through a phone notification instead of publishing on their own.

What changes when you move to Postify

X stops being a line item: it is included on every Postify plan. Instagram posts, carousels, Reels and Stories, and Facebook Reels and Stories, publish through the API, because Postify has no notification mode to fall back to.

What you would give up

Be clear about the losses before you switch. Postify has no website analytics, no ads reporting, no competitor tracking and no unlimited history: Hobby and Starter keep 90 days, Agency 732.

Postify does not publish to Bluesky or Google Business Profile, has no CSV bulk upload, no public API, no Zapier or Make, and no built-in AI credits. Your own assistant can still work in Postify through the MCP server.

There is also no free plan. If you were on Metricool Free and only need a handful of posts per month, moving to any paid tool, Postify included, is a cost increase.

How much work the move is

Plan on a manual rebuild. You can export your Metricool calendar to CSV, but Postify cannot import it, so use the file as a list and recreate upcoming posts in the composer. Most of the effort goes into reconnecting accounts and copying captions.

Metricool has no long contract on monthly plans: access runs to the end of the paid cycle, then the account reverts to Free with only your oldest brand active. Export the reports you need before that date.

4. Check LinkedIn per brand. Like Metricool, a Postify profile holds one account per network, so a personal profile and a company page for the same brand need two profiles.
5. Cancel near the end of the billing cycle. Metricool keeps paid access until then, then drops to Free, where only your oldest brand stays active.
